The renowned environmentalist of the world and the UN Champion of the Earth – Adv. Afroz Shah, along with his team, has visited Markazul Ma’arif Education and Research Center (MMERC), Mumbai today. During this visit, he had a special meeting with the Director of MMERC Maulana Mohammad Burhanuddin Qasmi and all MMERC faculty members, where they discuss about imparting law education to MMERC students and creating better awareness among people in regard to environment protection.
Following the meeting, all the representatives of Afroz Shah Foundation met and briefly addressed the newly enrolled MMERC students. In his speech Adv. Shah emphasized over the importance of constitutional awareness for all citizens of India, especially Muslims and their religious scholars. He also pointed out that English language is a vital link of communication for all and young ulama should master it being within MMERC.
From the very early days MMERC, Mumbai has been an active partner of Versova beach cleaning mission sphere headed by Adv. Afroz Shah in 2015 and till date MMERC Branch In-Charge – Maulana Atiqur Rahman Qasmi, MMERC faculty member – Maulana Aslam Javed Qasmi et al are active participants of this environment protection mission.
The Director of MMERC Maulana MB. Qasmi extended thanks and gratitude to Adv. Shah and his team of Afroz Shah Foundation for their visit and valuable academic exchanges with the new batch of MMERC students who are enrolled in Diploma in English Language and Literature (DELL) course under MMERC, Mumbai.
