On 11 June 2024, a delegation from MMERC visited Professor Khusro, a distinguished journalist, former lecturer at MMERC, and Copy-editor of Eastern Crescent. He has also contributed significantly to a leading English newspaper in the Middle East. Despite his advanced age and frail health, which limit his ability to speak and walk, he remains committed to reading newspapers and books. On his table were several books and English newspapers, including The Times of India and The Hindu.
The delegation included Professor Muhammad Aarif Ansari, Mufti Jaseemuddin Qasmi, Maulana Jameel Ahmed Qasmi, Md Salman Alam Qasmi, and Mohammad Taukir Rahmani. Professor Muhammad Arif Ansari inquired about his age, he responded humorously with an appealing smile on his wrinkled face , “How can I tell about my exact age, it keeps changing all the time.” During the visit, Professor Aarif sb asked about Professor Khusro’s continued habit of reading newspapers. Professor Khusro responded that staying informed about current affairs is essential.
When Mufti Jaseemuddin Qasmi asked for guidance for the newly appointed teachers at MMERC, Md Salman Alam Qasmi and Mohammad Taukir Rahmani, Professor Khusro emphasized the importance of reading and writing extensively. He advised them to write letters to the editor, stating, “The more you write, the better you will become.” His parting words were a powerful exhortation: “Read, read, read, and write, write, write.”
Professor Ahmad Kamal Khusro requested that all his students and acquaintances pray for his health, asking Allah to bless him with good health and shower His mercy upon him.
