Hamas’s Offensive: A Natural Reaction to Israeli Atrocities

Hazrat Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, the President of the ‘All India Muslim Personal Law Board’, said in his statement that the ongoing war between Hamas and Israel is very unfortunate and distressing. He emphasized that it is clearly a natural reaction to Israel’s breach of trust, its excesses, and the desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Labeling this reaction as terrorism is empowering the oppressors and being unjust to the oppressed.

The reality is that Israel is an occupying state, established under the shadow of force and oppression by Western powers after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. Regrettably, even after its establishment in 1967, Israel did not remain content with its borders, instead continued forcefully occupying vast territories of neighboring countries. Despite numerous resolutions by the United Nations and the Security Council, asking Israel to retreat to its 1967 borders, Israel has paid no heed. It is deplorable that major powers continued to support Israel, endorsing its open oppression.

From Jawaharlal Nehru to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India’s policy has always been that Israel should act on the recommendations of the United Nations, but regrettably, the current Prime Minister, Modiji, has diverged from this tradition, standing in support of the oppressor rather than the oppressed, announcing this stance openly and publicly. This is both shameful and sorrowful for the entire nation. The truth is that the primary cause of the current conflict between Hamas and Israel is Israel itself. Palestinians are merely defending against the oppression they face.

The solution is an immediate ceasefire and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, as per UN resolutions, ensuring justice for both Palestinians and Israelis.

Maulana Rahmani has appealed to Muslims to fervently pray for the oppressed Palestinians and to also suplicate the Qunoot Nazila (a special supplication during times of calamity).
