Brutal Assassination of Towering Muslim Leader Baba Siddique is Regretful; Criminals Must Face Exemplary Punishment: Maulana Badruddin Ajmal

Mumbai:- National President of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and former MP, as well as President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Assam, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, expressed deep sorrow and grief over the brutal assassination of prominent political leader and former state minister of Maharashtra, Baba Siddique. He remarked that this tragic murder is a significant loss to both the nation and the Muslim community.
Maulana Ajmal described Baba Siddique as a humanitarian committed to public welfare, human rights protection, religious harmony, and social justice throughout his life. Whenever the community needed assistance, he was ready to help without hesitation, considering it an honor to serve. He had a deep love for the Ulama and was always present in matters related to religion and welfare activities. His good character and tireless services earned him respect across religious, social, political, business, and even film circles.
The Maulana fondly recalled his collaborations with Baba Siddique on numerous social and welfare projects, finding him fully dedicated to serving others. He specifically remembered the 2005 Mumbai floods when Baba Siddique, despite being a state minister at the time, worked continuously alongside the team led by Fida-e-Millat Hazrat Maulana Syed Asad Madani to provide relief to flood victims. This demonstrated his deep commitment to humanity and his respect for the Ulama.
Maulana Ajmal strongly condemned the assassination and expressed concern over the fact that a former state minister and multiple-term MLA, with a reputable standing in political and business spheres, was shot dead in front of his office in a high-profile area like Bandra, Mumbai. He emphasized that this tragic incident reflects the failure of law and order and the growing influence of gangsters.
The Maulana urged the government to promptly identify and apprehend all individuals involved in Baba Siddique’s murder, including the masterminds behind the conspiracy, and ensure they receive the death penalty to set an example and deter others.
He also demanded that the government take effective measures to protect prominent figures in the city, preventing such incidents in the future.
