Mumbai, September 15: Three years ago, the campaign #ProphetForAll was launched with the aim of spreading the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (saws) and acquainting the world with them. The campaign seeks to eliminate misconceptions about Islam and the Prophet Muhammad (saws) by presenting the truth. As part of this initiative, various events are held from 1st Rabi’ul-Awwal to 12th Rabi’ul-Awwal, including programs like “Masjid Prichay Program,” where non-Muslim brothers are invited to the masjid to know about its activities. Another notable event is a Naatiya Mushaira (poetic symposium) where non-Muslim poets express their thoughts about Prophet Muhammad (saws) and Islam through their poetry.
This year, on the 11th of Rabi’ul-Awwal, a nationwide Blood Donation Camp was held at various locations. The purpose of organizing such a large-scale event was to demonstrate that Prophet Muhammad (saws) was a mercy to the entire world. Blood donations given in his name could become a means of mercy for those patients who are in dire need of it. It is said that the blood donated by one person can save three lives.
Markazul Ma’arif Education and Research Centre, Mumbai—an institution that has been serving the nation and community for several decades—organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the Meenatai Thackeray Blood Center. The camp commenced at 9 AM and continued until 7 PM. Faculty members, students of MMERC, and a large number of local men and women actively participated and donated blood.
The event began with a brief ceremony attended by several distinguished guests, including Dr. Talha, CEO of Millat Hospital, local corporator and Shiv Sena leader Raju Padnekar, prominent social activist and member of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband Shura Council, Hafiz Iqbal Chuna Wala, respected elder Mr. Masroor Sheikh (popularly known as Chhotu Bhai), and Rashid Azeem, owner and journalist of Aamna Saamna news channel, among others.
Director of MMERC Mumbai, Maulana Muhammad Burhanuddin Qasmi, expressed gratitude to all the blood donors, Mr. Ramesh Aswalkar, owner of Meenatai Thackeray Blood Center, and their entire medical team. Throughout the day, several social and political figures also visited to encourage the donors, including Mr. Saiful Islam from Congress, Mr. Raees Lashkaria from AIMIM, and Mr. Firoz Shah from Shiv Sena, among others. Maulana Burhanuddin Qasmi welcomed and thanked all the guests for their participation.
The program was anchored by Maulana Atiqur Rahman Qasmi, and it concluded with a supplication led by Maulana Muhammad Shahid Qasmi, Imam of Markazul Ma’arif Masjid.
