~~ Bushra Firdaus

Crime has no ounce of guilt
Innocent is silenced by a fist!

Criminal snores after the victory
Victim’s slumber is the only luxury!

But there’s one who bears huge distress
Dangling between conscience and nescience!

Wide awake from the grins and screams
Finding ways to stop this by all means!

Begging for coins of justice
In the streets of injustice!

Can’t unsee but their hands are fatigued
Can’t leave cause their feet are buried!

Sinking in hatred and empathy
Far away is the rope of bravery!

Knowledge of innocence is rough
Everyday plagued by the thoughts of-

“Will the sunglass hide the tints of violence?
Or shall I wait for ‘somebody’ in silence?”

Those who add to corruption by not speaking
May become the victim themselves by ignoring!

Insomniac from daily quarrels
Are the bystanders with morals!
