Mumbai, 19 May 2024: Bidar, Karnataka based Shaheen Group of Institutions held a career guidance program at Markazul Ma’arif Education and Research Center (MMERC) in Mumbai after Asr Salah today, drawing an audience of MMERC’s students, staff members, and attendees from various locations, including students, parents both males and females. This event emphasized Shaheen’s commitment to providing a comprehensive and value-integrated curriculum, contributing to “value based quality education.”
The program commenced with a beautiful recitation of the Glorious Qur’an, followed by a heart-touching Naat in praise of Prophet Mohammad (saws) by MMERC’s Diploma in English Language and Literature (DELL) students. The event was anchored by Mufti Jaseemuddin Qasmi, Coordinator of Online Darul Ifta and Lecturer at MMERC, Mumbai.
The first speaker, Maulana Mohammad Burhanuddin Qasmi, Director of MMERC and Editor of Eastern Crescent, addressed on the significance of personality development. He highlighted the frequent clashes of perspectives between children and parents, which often derail a child’s career. Maulana MB Qasmi noted that in the past, the absence of proper guidance hindered children’s goal-setting and progress. He emphasized over the importance of setting clear targets and goals and personal effort from students themselves. He cited examples of several students who secured top ranks in the UPSC exams through personal diligence without joining any coaching centers.
Following Maulana Qasmi, Mr. Shaikh Furqan a Navigating Officer in Merchant Navy spoke about the importance of setting goals and the necessity of individual efforts in achieving success. He also highlighted that marine also can be a carrier option with high pay and less cost comparing medical or engineering fields for young men. He said that he would be available for any assistance for candidates seeking a carrier in Merchant Navy.
The final and extensive lecture was delivered by Prof. Aaqib Shaikh, an Educational Counselor, Lecturer and Public Relation Officer from Shaheen Group of Institutions. He provided career guidance in light of the Qur’an and Hadith, focusing on three essentials:
1. Recognizing a child’s interest before choosing a field of carrier.
2. Building a strong foundation in basic education of the choosen field.
3. Considering the economic conditions of the parents, as education has become very expensive of late.
Professor Shaikh discussed the essentials of higher education and its opportunities, highlighting fields such as Arts, Commerce, Science and administrative services like the UPSC etc. He stressed on the importance of these areas for the children from the Muslim community, which has lagged behind in education.
The program concluded with a dua by the Branch Incharge of MMERC, Maulana Atiqur Rahman Qasmi, followed by a question and answer session with Professor Aqib Shaikh.
This event marked another step in Shaheen Group’s ongoing dedication to preparing children for better life, ensuring their holistic development, and equipping them to realize their full potential. The program was hosted by MMERC, Mumbai at its campus for local Pre-University College (PUC) students.
