Allah’s two Invisible Systems for the Protection of Islam

Islam is not a man-made ideology or a temporary code of life. Rather, it is a divinely revealed religion from the Lord of Majesty, to guide humanity by the Day of Judgment. The responsibility for its protection was also taken by Allah Himself, as stated in the glorious Qur’an: “Indeed, it is We who sent down the Dhikr, and indeed, We will be its Guardian.”
(Surah Al-Hijr: 9)
This divine assurance does not apply to the Qur’an alone but encompasses the entire religion of Islam, its survival, safety, and flourishing; because the Qur’an is the keystone of Islam. Along with it, the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ forms a complete and enduring system of life.
From the very beginning, therefore, Allah has set up two permanent and unseen systems for the preservation of Islam:
1. A Complete and Living Set of Teachings:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was given a Shari‘ah (Divine Law) by Allah that addresses the needs of all times and places. The principles of Qur’an and Sunnah revealed around 1,450 years ago remain just as relevant and applicable today. In fact, they serve as the most effective source of peace, justice, and guidance for the spiritually lost and morally gone astray societies of the modern world.
These teachings have endured and triumphed over every ideological and civilizational storm throughout history. They have always provided a lighthouse for those seeking truth and purpose, demonstrating their timeless vitality.
2. The Preparation of Exceptional Individuals:
The second and perhaps more impactful unseen system is that Allah continuously raises extraordinary personalities in every era—people who are not only true representatives of Islam but also live following its values and leading others through their exemplary deeds. These noble souls have always risen to the occasion whenever Islam faced different challenges defending it with the weapons of knowledge, piety, sincerity, and sacrifice, such as:

Imam Ghazali (ra) countered the toxic and poisonous influence of Greek philosophy. Mujaddid Alf-e Thani (ra) brought Sufeism under the discipline of Shari‘ah. Shah Waliullah (ra) integrated Islamic teachings into the social system and tried his level best interpreted the Islamic teachings logically. Recently, the scholars of Deoband in the Indian subcontinent played a pivotal role in protecting Islam through establishing religious seminaries and awakening the Muslim masses.
The Present Era and Our Responsibility:
We live in a time of startling trials in the form of materialism, the invasion of social media, dominance of Western ideologies, and increasing distance from authentic Islamic education. In such challenging circumstances, the need to defend and uphold Islam is greater than ever before. So we must have firm belief that Allah’s divine system is still active and will be. Across regions and languages, there are always believing individuals carrying the flag of Islam whether they are preachers, writers, teachers, students, reformers, or strugglers in the path of truth.
This is a special favour of Allah: the protection of Islam does not rest on the mercy of any single individual, organization, or a nation. It has been lying constantly in the divine system established by Allah Himself. However, it remains the duty of every believer to contribute to the cause of Islam in whatever capacity they can. By doing so, they become part of Allah’s army, those have chosen to safeguard His religion.
Let us be firmly convinced that Allah’s invisible law for the protection of Islam has been in motion since eternity and will continue until the end of time. This is a divine promise, confirmed by history and affirmed by countless examples from the past and present. What we need today is to trust in this unseen system and become active soldiers of Islam.
Terrific work! This is the type of info that should be shared around the internet. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher! Thanks
